Napa, as a concept, begins in Lake County to the north, on the other side of Mount Saint Helena, where every year more and more winegrapes are being grown and wine country living is taking root.  Napa's county reaches beyond Napa Valley up and over Deer Park and Angwin to include sublime Pope Valley, Butts Canyon, and Chiles Valley.  The Napa river springs from the base of Mount Saint Helena making its way between the most famous winery towns in the world; Calistoga, St. Helena, Rutherford, Oakville and Yountville, before wending its way through the city of Napa.
